On November 3, 2010 USC's academic good will ambassadors, Muslim Student Union and the Ansar Service Partnership; held the Hassan Hathout Fast-a-thon. Both Muslim and Non Muslim,faculty members, students and parents all observed patience from sunrise to sunset in unity; some for the first time. Ending the day at Masjid Omar Ibn Al Khattab in Los Angeles with breaking the fast with a healthy snack, salat (prayer) and a banquet dinner. In Association with the Hassan Hathout Foundation, the organizations were able to bridge American cultures and bring awareness to Los Angeles homeless problem. The group and its participants were able to fund raise a gift presented to local organization ILM Foundation, founders of Humanitarian Day; a direct service program for homelessness.
The ILM Foundation's mission for Humanitarian Day is, "Convert One Day into a Life's Mission" would like to thank USC's Muslim Student Union and Ansar Service Partnership and the event sponsors; The USC Office of Religious Life, USC Interfaith Council and Omar Ibn Al Khattab for its combined leadership and consideration of their community.
